Chef Yogi brings over 10 years of experience in Japanese cuisine, having started his career at Zipangu, the renowned Japanese restaurant in Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. There, he mastered essential techniques like Teppanyaki, Tempura, and Dashi before moving to Sushi Azabu to refine his sushi expertise. His deep passion for sushi and commitment to elevating the guest experience have made him a trusted chef, especially when it comes to sake pairings.
As the second-in-command to Chef Haruka, Chef Yogi leads the team in her absence, contributing to the restaurant’s success with his extensive knowledge of Japanese culinary techniques. His well-rounded skill set has allowed the team to grow and consistently deliver exceptional dishes, from sushi to other classic Japanese offerings.
Chef Yogi is also active in the local culinary scene, recently leading the Standing Sushi event at APW, Bangsar, in collaboration with Unwined KL. His reputation has attracted loyal guests from across Klang Valley, many of whom travel just to attend his events or enjoy a meal prepared by him.
